POSITION: Global Operations Accounting Director

LOCATION: Rochester, NY

SUMMARY:  Our client, a growing manufacturing company is hiring for a Global Operations Accounting Director to serve as a key player on the operations leadership team. This individual will play a critical role in major business initiatives, including driving strategic decision making within the operations function based upon the measurement of financial data. The Global Operations Accounting Director will oversee all financial metrics and data points to lead operational process improvements and develop key business strategies. The ideal candidate for this role will have a high acumen for financial data analysis and will be comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization to help drive strategic decision making.

Ideal candidate must have at least eight years of experience in a manufacturing company, strong ERP systems utilization experience, inventory control experience and experience developing enterprise wide cost accounting practices. Strong leadership and communication skills are a must. Big Four public accounting background a plus.


  • Perform fact-based financial and operational analysis to create meaningful, actionable conclusions and drive decision making
  • Lead all activities related to the annual establishment of product standard costs and establishing new product pricing
  • Review operations budget plans and analysis of financial performance versus the operating plan to determine forward-moving strategies
  • Analyze monthly/quarterly actual results versus budget along with findings and conclusions
  • Lead all P&L efforts based on monthly Cost of Sales/Margin analysis
  • Develop ongoing assessments of performance based on cost drivers
  • Manage capital expenditure and capacity planning for all operations
  • Lead ongoing efforts for process improvement; drive process changes and install best practices as needed
  • Provide leadership to team members in the operational accounting area and support their ongoing professional development through highly effective coaching
  • Partner with other company leaders to ensure the achievement of business objectives through meaningful and strategic collaboration and communication
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred
  • Ten (10) or more years of related work experience including experience within a public company manufacturing operation
  • Experience leading direct report team members with a commitment to coaching and development

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
